The gesture
From hide to bag
Before it becomes a bag, it is a hide that is studied, traced and cut. Five gestures, filmed up close.
-
01
The grain
The hand reads the hide, the loupe reveals the grain: tight and even, it gives the leather its structure and its patina.
-
02
The tracing
The template is laid flat and its outline followed with a pen. Every piece starts from this line.
-
03
The cut
The blade follows the line along the ruler in a single pass, for a clean edge.
-
04
The gluing
A thin line of glue along the edge of each piece, just enough to join them without extra thickness.
-
05
The stitching
The needles are prepared, then the thread goes through, stitch by stitch.
Our leathers
Each model has its leather
Here is what sets them apart, and how to keep them beautiful.

Full-grain cowhide
The top layer of the hide, the one that keeps its natural grain. Dense, it holds its shape and develops a patina over the years.
Le Firkin · Le Messager · Le PortefeuilleSee the leather →
Croc-embossed full-grain
The same full-grain leather, pressed with a croc relief that catches the light without reflecting it. Inside, a burgundy leather lining.
Le PrestigieuxSee the model →
Fine-grain cowhide
A fine, even, matte grain that keeps the colour crisp and underlines a structured line.
La DuchesseSee the model →
Palm-grain cowhide
A fine, even palm grain that keeps the colour crisp and matte. It dresses a clutch for evenings and every day alike.

One material, four silhouettes
Translucent jelly-effect TPU was not chosen for the effect. It was chosen because it is light, because it is water-resistant, and because it hints without revealing everything.
The rest — the clasp, the handles, the charm — follows the codes of classic leather goods, transposed into a material no one expected to find there.
The material
It is water-resistant. Genuinely.
TPU is a flexible thermoplastic: rain runs off it, a splash wipes away, and the material does not soak up water the way a leather would.
- LightA structure that holds its shape without the weight of a lined leather.
- Water-resistantRain beads up, it does not soak in.
- Translucent, not transparentIt hints without revealing everything.
The construction
Classic codes, transposed
Nothing was simplified along the way. The clasp pivots and locks, the handles are topstitched one by one, the key hangs from its charm.
- Padlock-style claspMetal turn-lock and decorative key, as on a piece of fine leather goods.
- Round topstitched handlesA structured hold, comfortable to carry on the shoulder or on the arm.
- Compatible with all Firkin charmsYou adjust the transparency to suit the mood — or the contents.
The charms
The detail that makes it yours
Our charms are made from premium leather. They clip onto the handle or the clasp in a moment, and change with the mood.
It is the gesture that makes each bag unique — and the reason one rarely stops at a single one.
- Premium leatherIt develops a patina over time. That is normal, and it is what makes it yours.
- Compatible with every modelThe same clip fits any bag in the collection.
Care
Two minutes, and it regains its shine
Well cared for, a Firkin Jelly bag keeps its shine for years. There is nothing complicated to do.
- A soft cloth, slightly dampThat is enough to revive the material day to day.
- Air dryingAway from any direct heat source.
- No solvents, no abrasivesThey dull the transparency irreversibly.
- StorageFilled with tissue paper, it keeps its shape.
